The Public Prosecution Office in Egypt decided to refer 3 defendants to the Criminal Court, for their accusation of killing a student by burning fire in the new city of Damietta because of his harassment of a woman.
In a statement on Sunday, the Public Prosecution said that the defendants had resolved to kill a student named Mustafa Siraj, and had prepared gasoline for that.
The prosecution stated that one of the defendants poured gasoline in the dwelling and set it on fire, so the murdered student rose up and another who was with him and tried to seize him, but the accused continued to pour gasoline and set his body on fire, intending to take his soul, which actually resulted in his death.
The Public Prosecution had previously revealed that the defendants committed their crime out of revenge against the student for harassing one of them’s sister and attacking her in her home adjacent to his, and his habit of doing so.
The prosecution established evidence for the accused from the testimony of five witnesses, including the two victims, and what one of the accused confessed to the investigations, and what was proven from the inspection of the crime scene and what was revealed from watching it with surveillance machines in its surroundings, and what was proven by the report of the Forensic Medicine Authority.
It is reported that the hashtag #Haq_Mustafa_Siraj has topped the communication sites in Egypt, after the murder of the young Mustafa, who was burned to death by his neighbors, who poured gasoline on him and set him on fire.
The accident caused the young man to suffer first-degree burns by 95% of all parts of the body, and he was transferred for treatment at the Burns Department of the Hospital of the Faculty of Medicine at Al-Azhar University in New Damietta, in a critical condition, and then died a few hours after the accident.
The accused was arrested and the dead student’s body was kept at the Public Prosecution’s disposal.
