Urtopia unveiled on a new e-bike with ChatGPT integration. The demonstration was made on the site Eurobike 2023the company claims that this electric bicycle is a world first. Although the e-bike shown is a demonstration model, Urtopia has confirmed that it is developing a version for sale in the future. A recent YouTube video from the brand shows a user pressing a button on the left handlebar to activate a ChatGPT voice assistant, answering questions regarding the benefits of cycling.
In a second video demo of the Urtopia ChatGPT e-bike, a rider is seen requesting a guided tour of Los Angeles, with the voice assistant detailing a route and then asking the user if they want to start navigating. Urtopia bike technology also includes GPS navigation, which can be used to locate your bike if stolen, safety tools for riding and a data log to track your progress. In addition, you can link your Urtopia electric bike to platforms such as Apple Health or Strava to get additional information and share your performance with your friends.
The new Urtopia Fusion electric bike, designed in partnership with Hartmut Esslinger, founder of Frog Design, who worked on Apple’s Snow White design concept, was also presented at Eurobike 2023. The model weighs less than 20 kg thanks has a full carbon fiber frame and is equipped with the intelligent Urtopia system; to be clear, this currently does not include the voice interaction provided by the built-in ChatGPT. It is not yet known when Urtopia will release the e-bike with ChatGPT integration, or how much it will cost.
