US Commerce Secretary Gina Lamondo, who visited China, met today (28th) with Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao to discuss ways to maintain stable economic relations between the two countries.

At the two-hour meeting, Minister Lamondo said that the world expects stable economic relations between the two countries, the world’s largest economies.

To this end, Secretary Lamondo said that the US and China are working to establish a new information exchange system for more coherent dialogue.

Wang expressed appreciation for Secretary Lamondo’s positive stance on trade between the two countries, saying that the US-China economic relationship is important not only for the two countries, but also for the world.

“China is ready to work together to create a more favorable policy environment for stronger cooperation and strengthen trade and investment between the two countries,” he said.

Secretary of State Tony Blincoln in June and Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen last month, Minister Lamondo’s visit to China came amid continuing conflicts between the two countries, including trade relations.

The annual trade between the US and China exceeds $700 billion.
