The US Central Armed Forces Command (CENTCOM) stated in their daily update on X that in the past 24 hours, US armed forces managed to destroy one drone launcher in a Houthi-controlled area in Yemen.
“These launchers are considered an imminent threat to U.S., coalition, and merchant forces in the region,” CENTCOM said.
The UN envoy for Yemen said Tuesday that the latest developments in the Red Sea, Israel and at home “point to the real danger of a devastating escalation across the region” over the Gaza war.
The Houthis have launched missiles and drones at Israel and disrupted global trade through the Red Sea, in response to Israel’s attacks on Gaza.
In response to recent drone attacks on Tel Aviv, Israel last weekend bombarded the Red Sea port city of Hodeidah, leaving dozens injured and causing major damage to port infrastructure. (Al Jazeera/Z-3)
