US Draft Resolution for Ceasefire in Israel’s War on Gaza Vetoed by Permanent Security Council Members

The United Nations Security Council recently failed to pass a draft resolution proposed by the United States, calling for a ceasefire in the ongoing war between Israel and Gaza. The draft received 11 votes in favor, but was vetoed by Russia and China, two permanent members of the Security Council.
