US jobless claims fall more than expected

Unemployment claims in the United States witnessed a decline more than analysts’ expectations, as the American economy attempts to recover from the “Corona” pandemic and avoid the repercussions of the current Russian-Ukrainian crisis.

And the data released today, Thursday by the US Department of Labor, confirmed that the number of initial jobless claims in the United States decreased at the level of 215,000 during the week ending on February 26, compared to expectations of a drop to 225 thousand.

The average number of jobless claims in the past four weeks – the most accurate measure of the performance of the US labor market – fell by regarding 6,000 to 230.5 thousand.
