Moscow. 2 June. INTERFAX.RU – Head of the US State Department Anthony Blinken arrived on Thursday evening in the Finnish capital of Helsinki.

Blinken is expected to meet with Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto and outgoing Prime Minister Sanna Marin on Friday, Yle reported.

He will also meet with Finnish leaders and deliver a keynote address on the security situation in Europe, Finland’s NATO membership and Sweden’s entry into the alliance.

Earlier this week, Blinken visited Oslo in Norway and Luleå in Sweden.

In Oslo, he took part in an informal meeting of NATO foreign ministers in preparation for the upcoming alliance summit in Vilnius.

The Lithuanian summit in July is expected to discuss Sweden’s NATO membership and future defense investments by member states.
