“Distrust in Netanyahu’s ability to govern has deepened and widened among the public since its already high pre-war levels”

Washington, 11 – A new US intelligence assessment says that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s mandate “may be in danger”, and suggests that Israel will not be able to achieve its goal of completely eliminating Hamas.

“The viability of Netanyahu as leader, as well as his governing coalition of far-right and ultra-Orthodox parties that have pursued hard-line policies on Palestinian and security issues, may be in danger,” said the assessment, part of a report by 40 pages on global threats from Gaza and Ukraine to terrorism and cyberspace that was released today. The US intelligence report, called the Annual Threat Assessment, comprises the views of all US spy agencies.

“Distrust in Netanyahu’s ability to govern has deepened and widened among the public from its already high pre-war levels, and we expect large protests demanding his resignation and new elections,” the document says.
