Soccer star Megan Rapinoe won the last international match of her career. The USA won 2-0 once morest South Africa on Sunday. Rapinoe was substituted following 54 minutes in Chicago to great applause. When leaving the field following her 203rd international match, the now 38-year-old offensive player bowed.

Speaking following the game, Rapinoe became emotional and said the evening was “special.” The soccer player, also known worldwide for her commitment to the LGBTQ community, became Olympic champion in 2012 and won the World Cup title with the USA in 2015 and 2019.
