The major stock indexes on Wall Street closed lower at the end of trading on Thursday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended the trading session down by 622.24 points, or 1.8 percent, to reach 34312.03 points.
The broader Standard & Poor’s 500 Index lost 94.75 points, or 2.1 percent, to reach 4380.26 points.
The Nasdaq Composite Index of Technology Shares declined 407.38 points, or 2.9 percent, to reach 13,716.72 points.
