The main stock indices on Wall Street closed lower at the end of Monday’s trading.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended the trading session down by 497.57 points, or 1.4%, to reach 33849.46 points.
The broader Standard & Poor’s 500 Index lost 62.18 points, or 1.5 percent, to 3963.94 points.
The Nasdaq Composite Index for technology shares fell 176.86 points, or 1.6 percent, to 11,049.50 points.
