US Treasury Secretary: Iran’s actions threaten stability, and we will use sanctions to deter it

United States – The US Treasury Department announced that it will impose new sanctions on Iran after its recent attack that targeted Israel with dozens of drones and missiles.

US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said that Iran’s actions threaten stability in the Middle East and may cause economic repercussions.

The minister added that America will use sanctions and work with allies “to continue to obstruct Iran’s malicious and destabilizing activities,” as she put it.

The minister indicated that the US Treasury Department has targeted more than 500 individuals and entities “linked to terrorism practiced by Iran and its agents since 2021.”

In this context, Israeli Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz stated that Israel is leading a diplomatic attack against Iran in conjunction with the military response to the launching of missiles and marches.

He explained in a post on the

Katz said that Iran must be stopped before it is too late.

The United States and Britain impose numerous sanctions on Iran for various reasons.

The reason for some of these sanctions is due to Iran’s nuclear program, some are due to what the two countries say is Iranian support for Russia in its war against Ukraine by providing it with drones, and some are due to what they say is Iranian support for the Yemeni Houthi group in its operations launched against Israeli and American ships in the Red Sea. This is in addition to penalties for other reasons.
