A sea turtle rehabilitated was released into the Atlantic Ocean from a beach in Juno Beach, Florida on Wednesday. Willow, a young loggerhead sea turtlewas released in the area behind the Loggerhead Marinelife Center. The injured turtle was brought to the center on June 25 after being found by the search party at nearby Jensen Beach. Veterinarians diagnosed Willow the debilitated turtle syndromea condition that causes malnutrition, fatigue and barnacle encrustation in sea turtles. “We put her on antibiotics, pain medication, iron and nutritional supplements and corrected her anemia and she is now very vibrant,” said Heather Barron, chief science officer for the Loggerhead Marinelife Center, founded in 1983 and dedicated to sea turtle research, rehabilitation, education and conservation.
