With no wind, the 26-year-old sprinter from Florida beat Letsile Tebogo (BOT/9.88) and Zharnel Hughes (GBR/9.88) in 9.83 seconds. The 26-year-old has thus fulfilled part one of his World Cup mission, Lyles is aiming for the double on the Danube – he will start the race as the defending champion in the 200 m. After the fulfilled half-time plan, he immediately gave out verbally. “They said it can’t be done. They said I’m not the one. Thank God I am,” Lyles said.
