In a year marked by the resolution of more than 10 million cases filed by migrants in all its offices throughout the country, USCIS has highlighted its commitment to efficiency and attention to those who request its services.
The director of USCIS, Ur M. Jaddou, expressed her satisfaction with the agency’s performance, highlighting pride in its dedication to justice and integrity in serving the migrant community. “We have reached an important milestone by completing a record number of cases, as well as providing crucial humanitarian aid in times of global crisis,” she said.
Data presented by USCIS supports these improvements, with statistics showing significant reductions in processing times for several essential forms.
Some procedures that are streamlined
For example, the processing time for Form N-400, vital for the citizenship application, has been reduced to 5.7 months, exceeding the expectations set of six months during the previous fiscal year.
Additionally, the agency has implemented a number of changes to wait times for various forms, with reductions ranging from 1% to an impressive 72%.
To continue improving access and efficiency of its services, USCIS has significantly expanded its online tools. This expansion allows users to manage their procedures more easily, reflecting the agency’s adaptation to current digital demands.
A concrete example of this initiative is the online processing of more than 430,000 address changes through December 2023. This tool is expected to not only facilitate the process for users, but also reduce the burden on the USCIS Contact Center by up to 31%, freeing up resources for other important activities.
