The creator of the Polish UseCrypt messenger was detained by the Central Bureau of Investigation and faced charges including: participation in an organized criminal group and money laundering. His product was promoted by famous names.
How informs Virtual Poland, the creator of the UseCrypt messenger was charged. We are talking about Paweł M., whose product was heavily promoted in the past as one of the “safest on the market”. He was allegedly interested in, among others, Israeli Mossad.
Celebrities and other well-known people with large reach were involved in the advertising, e.g. Dr. Maciej Kawecki promoting new technologies on the Internet; presenter Filip Chajzer and director and screenwriter Patryk Vega.

Usecrypt. Who benefits?
“Today, there are many politicians and people associated with the government among Usecrypt users. As we have checked, the following are displayed as application users: politicians Ryszard Czarnecki, Artur Soboń, Marcin Warchoł and Przemysław Wipler, former head of the CBA Paweł Wojtunik and lawyer Sylwia Gregorczyk Abram,” we read in the text by WP journalist Szymon Jadczak.
Communicator vulnerabilities
Experts from Niebezpiecznik, the Trusted Third Party and the Company’s IT specialist showed that this “one of the safest messengers in the world” has serious gaps. This was supposed to be met with a reaction from people associated with UseCrypt. We’re talking about attempts at intimidation.
Investors did not get their money back
An important element of this story are matters related to the stock exchange. WP, citing Puls Biznesu, indicates that in 2016-2017, Dron House, iME and Usecrypt, owned by Largo Capital (controlled by Paweł M.), were preparing to enter the stock exchange.
The problem is that it didn’t happen a investors never got their money back for shares. Largo Capital was removed from the register of entrepreneurs at the end of last year.
“The case concerns damage amounting to over PLN 70 million when purchasing shares of UseCrypt, Drone House and iME,” emphasizes attorney Jacek Gaj, representative of over 30 injured parties, in an interview with WP.

The case was investigated by the prosecutor’s office and the Central Bureau of Investigation. According to Szymon Jadczak’s information, it was supposed to happen in December arrest of Paweł M. and four other people. Everyone was charged with, among others: activities in an organized criminal group. The creators of Usecrypt are also accused fraud and money laundering.
“The man allegedly accepted and transferred property between various people and companies, which would conceal his criminal origins. The allegation concerns an amount of not less than PLN 36 million,” we read in WP.
