The accident happened on Wednesday around 2 p.m.: A 35-year-old driver was driving his truck from Zell am See towards Mittersill. At the same time, a 67-year-old car driver turned onto the federal highway from a parking lot in Uttendorf. For an unknown reason, the two vehicles collided head-on, causing the car to overturn and come to a stop after about 30 meters. The pensioner was trapped in his vehicle as a result of the accident, and the Uttendorf fire department was alerted and freed the victim using rescue scissors. After initial treatment, the seriously injured man was taken to the Tauern Clinic in Zell am See, where he ultimately succumbed to his serious injuries. The driver of the truck was uninjured.
