A large landslide occurred Thursday evening above Bitsch. Emergency services rushed to the scene to assess the situation.
A landslide occurred Thursday around 7 p.m. in the town of Bitsch, informs the Valais cantonal police on Twitter. The rock that broke off fell into the Gorges de la Massa, upstream from the Gebidem dam. Rescuers immediately rushed to the scene, police said. At this stage of the search, it appears that no one was injured.
“I first saw a huge cloud, says a reader. At first I thought it was a forest fire, but then I saw the rock pile below.
