A broken leg, a back injury on the verge of hypothermia and a death. This is the outcome of the avalanche that fell on Thursday afternoon, around 2 p.m., a few hundred meters from the arrival of the Ruinettes ski lifts in Verbier. In reality, no one lost their life in this mishap. This situation was staged by the Communication and Prevention Unit of the Valais police, which invited the actors working in the high mountains to show their way of working and collaborating.

“Either we lose together or we win together,” summarizes Pascal Gaspoz, rescue guide and head of the mountain group of the cantonal police. And in Valais, we are often used to winning together.” In fact, the season’s results do not currently include any casualties.
