Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Vatican State Curator, has repeatedly expressed the Holy See’s concern over the situation in Israel and Palestine.

He expressed this concern during a friendly meeting with the representative of the Arab countries Mrs. Enas Syed Mohamed Ali Mekawi and the ambassadors of the countries of Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq and Egypt, who were part of her entourage, at the Vatican on Saturday the 16th (16/12/23).

On the occasion, Cardinal Parolin recalled the appeals made by Pope Francis for a ceasefire and to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza. He says that a complete resolution of the Israeli and Palestinian problems and an internationally guaranteed special status for Jerusalem are urgently needed for lasting peace in the region.
