Venezuela detects 225 new cases of covid-19

The country currently has 1,842 active cases.

The Presidential Commission for the prevention, care and control of covid-19, reported that this December 24, 225 new positive cases were detected in the country, of which 116 were due to community transmission and 109 imported.

Aragua topped the list of states with the most infections, reporting 33, followed by Guárico with 29, Caracas 20, Miranda 6, Carabobo 5, Zulia 4, Lara 3, Nueva Esparta 2, Bolívar 2, Yaracuy 2, Delta Amacuro, Táchira, Monagas, La Guaira, Sucre, Falcón, Mérida, Anzoátegui, Barinas and Apure each entity registered one case.

Regarding those imported, the Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, explained that 47 entered from Panama, 17 from Turkey, 14 from Spain, 7 from Peru, 7 from the Dominican Republic, 6 from Colombia and 5 from Portugal.

The country currently has 1,842 active cases.

Rodríguez alerted the population to “maintaining care measures and reinforcing the anticovid19 vaccine will be our best allies to avoid contagion by the virus.”
