A total of 144 tourists from the city of Cali they arrived at the Margarita Island located in Venezuela, in the first charter flight on this route what will it have a weekly flight, reported this Saturday the Minister of Tourism of Venezuela, Alí ​​Padrón.

“Today we received the first flight of the Cali-Porlamar charter operation with 144 passengers (100% capacity), this Aerolíneas Estelar route will have a frequency of one weekly flight”, Padrón pointed out on his Twitter account.

The visitors, according to photographs shared on the social network, were received by the Minister of Tourism, who informed that other routes will be activated from Cúcuta, Medellín and Pereira to Porlamar, without specifying dates.

“These actions are consolidated thanks to the Strategic Plan of the Ministry of Tourism, executed by Venezolana de Turismo (Venetur) and Oasis Travel. We continue to strengthen incoming tourism as a fundamental factor for the development of the country’s economy and our pearl of the Caribbean”added the minister.

Thousands of people have also arrived in Margarita Russian and Cuban tourists in the last year and Polish travelers are expected to visit the island thanks to a cooperation agreement signed by Venezuela and Poland last January, according to this ministry.

Besides, 110 tourists from Trinidad and Tobago visited the island in April, on the first flight of the charter air route that connects both Caribbean countries and that was paralyzed during 8 years.

Margarita received, at the beginning of 2023, the first cruise from Europe in 15 years, the German ship Amadea, which arrived with almost 500 tourists from countries such as Spain, Germany and France, according to the Executive.
