Vera’s guests today: Peter Simonischek’s widow, actress Brigitte Karner and “Opus” mastermind Ewald Pfleger and his son Paul
Vera Russwurm’s guest is the widow of the great Burg actor and long-time “Everyman” actor Peter Simonischek, who lost his battle with cancer in May of this year at the age of 76. Brigitte Karner talks about her 40-year relationship, which wasn’t always easy, and about her feeling that she is still surrounded by her Peter today. She is also very moved when she says that her husband’s death was wonderful, not least because his three adult children also accompanied him. “The room was filled with pure love,” said Brigitte Karner.
Vera Russwurm also welcomes father and son Pfleger, who also perform the song “Ooh La La” together. Ewald, the father who once composed the global hit “Live is Life”, describes how important the musical input of his son, who is also a professional musician, is to him today. Even though the music of the two is very different, they still appear on stage together again and again. At VERA, Paul picks up the ukulele and Ewald picks up the acoustic guitar.
