The leadership of Independiente had filed a complaint against the previous leadership, that of Hugo Moyano, for fraudulent administration in the hiring of the soccer player Gonzalo Verón, by the Labor Court Number 2 of Avellaneda sentenced the Red to pay 2,332,081,796 pesos to the player in concept double severance pay for dismissal in pandemic.
The lawyer hired by the club, Christian Poletti, gave a tremendous diagnosis: “Spurious administration, that is the hypothesis that we take to the Courts, the most expensive goal in world history, and the absurd sentence that was announced a few days ago, that It is a death certificate not only for Independiente but for any institution that receives in its coffers. In 30 years as a criminal lawyer, I have never seen anything like this.”
“This hiring is impossible, it was known that it would end badly, it was projected to be breached and prosecuted, and this judicial process is not contested by the victim. They did not respond to the lawsuit, which means that they accept the lawsuit,” said the lawyer.
“Verón is a necessary participant. We ask the Justice to investigate. That hiring was money laundering. Investigate the sentences of labor trials, none exceeds ten million pesos. By common sense it is criminal,” said Poletti.
“This is really the bankruptcy of Independiente. You cannot pay such money in a labor lawsuit. It is impossible. Honestly, I never read a labor sentence like the one from Verón to Independiente. Does not exist. It was always known that the demand was not going to be answered,” said Poletti.
“Money laundering is what we believe existed here in this case. We are working to prosecute all the culprits who have been involved. They did great damage to the club. In a few weeks I studied the matter. It didn’t take months. We have a very big suspicion. There are crimes that will be shown in Justice,” he explained in dialogue with TyC Sports and the Muy CAI audition.
“The Verón thing, not collecting the two million dollar contract from Oca, the Figal thing, the Domínguez thing, this is spurious administration. The hiring of Verón was money laundering,” added Poletti
“Independiente cannot go bankrupt because the sentence was illegal, it will not be collected. No judge is going to allow that sentence to be collected. The club cannot pay that sentence. I am waiting for the biggest trial of the institution, no there is a pandemic, don’t tell me because I’ve known it all my life,” he explained.
“The contract was with the undoubted intention of taking foreign money to its own coffers and harming the club. This can go to trial with a jail sentence for part of the previous leadership and the contractors of that absurdity,” Poletti said.
