Actress Veronica Ferres has criticized the unequal pay of women and men in the film industry. “There is no reason why actresses are paid less even though they have the same background or CV as the men,” the 56-year-old told dpa on Thursday evening at the “Women on Top” event in Düsseldorf. “We get up just as early, we learn our lyrics just as much, and we engage viewers a lot more emotionally.”
Actresses and producers need more self-confidence. “It’s really difficult to go once morest male structures,” said Ferres. “We need more self-confidence and have to stand up for ourselves more.”
