Red Bull driver Max Verstappen set the fastest time in free practice for the Monaco Grand Prix. The two-time Formula 1 World Champion and chosen Monegasque relegated the only real Monegasque driver in the field to second place in the second session on Friday at his home race. Charles Leclerc in the Ferrari only had to admit defeat to the Dutchman by 65 thousandths of a second. Third was Carlos Sainz (+0.107 sec.), who, however, demolished his Ferrari towards the end.
