Viamonte relatives: “The authorities have not found the murderers” (+ photos)

The Criminal Investigation Service of the Bolívar State Police (Sipeb) is conducting investigations into the case.

This Sunday, relatives and neighbors of lawyer Héctor Viamonte held a protest in the Dalla Costa de San Félix parish; to demand that justice be done for his death.

Viamonte was assassinated six days ago when he was about to leave his home, and his relatives point out that the authorities have not yet found the perpetrators of the murder.

Despite the fact that it was known that the investigations into this case were in charge of the Criminal Investigation Service of the Bolívar State Police (Sipeb), more than 100 protesters asked the authorities for justice to be done and to catch the subjects who ended up with his life.

“Family, friends and neighbors of the Dalla Costa parish protest the murder of an honorable, blameless man. They took a family man, a good husband, a good son, and we want justice for him,” they said.

Viamonte was assassinated on Tuesday, November 29, and to date, his relatives have not received any reason regarding the status of his case or the perpetrators of the crime.

“We want this to be sent to the Republic Prosecutor Tarek William Saab, and to President Nicolás Maduro, so that the case does not go unpunished; because today it is about Hector, tomorrow the victims could be one of us,” they said.

At the moment, the information that is handled about this event is that at 5:00 am last Tuesday, Viamonte was shot twice; and according to the information provided by the witnesses, three people perpetrated the homicide.

The authorities have deduced that the motive in this case is robbery, and that the murderers would have been in charge of studying and analyzing the routine of the victim.

Héctor Viamonte was the father of two children, eight and 15 years old. He was an athlete, manager of a company located in San Félix and studied law at the Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho University (Ugma).

Mourners asserted that the entire community loved him, because he was a very caring man and “he helped everyone, gave food to street children. We are dead in life, but we ask that this does not remain so.

They ended their statements by stating that “the authorities have not told us anything. They have his phone confiscated, but they don’t say anything.”
