Vice President Li Hongjun nominated by the President

President Tsai today nominated Li Hongjun as a supervisory committee member and vice president, and he will be appointed after consultation with the Legislative Yuan.

Li Hongjun, 62 years old this year, is the current secretary-general of the People First Party and is a famous political brother with former interior minister Li Hongyuan. Li Hongjun was re-elected as a member of the Legislative Council for five consecutive terms, and he also served as the general convener of the Legislative Yuan of the People First Party. In 2001, Li Hongjun was persuaded to run for the legislature under the visit of Soong Chuyu, the chairman of the People’s First Party. Until the 2020 general election, he missed the sixth consecutive hegemony because the party vote of the People’s First Party failed to exceed 5%.
