LA PAZ, BCS.- Five tourists they turned out injured after his boat hit a Humpback Whalein the bay of La Paz, Baja California Surconfirmed state Civil Protection authorities.
The mishap occurred on Friday afternoon and was captured on video where tourists are seen falling into the water, one of them resulting in serious injuries.
The undersecretary of Civil Protection of the state, Benjamín García, informed THE UNIVERSALthat it is a tourist boat, and from the first reports it appears -he said- that he would not have observed the humpback whale that was underwater.
“The whale came out of the sea and that is when it pushes the boat, the passengers falling and resulting in injuries. Three people were hospitalized, one of them seriously, and two more we treated at the port, ”he explained.

He said that a rescue unit from the Secretary of the Navy (SEMAR) responded to the call for help and transferred the injured tourists to a private hospital.
The official stated that the boat was carrying out a tourist walk through the bay, in the area of Espiritu Santo Island and when returning to the port of La Paz, the mishap occurred.
He added that it will be the State Attorney General’s Office (PGJE) who will be in charge of the investigations to determine responsibilities.
