The investigations acquitted Dr. Hala Zayed, and confirmed that there were only 4 accused, including her ex-husband, who used her name to obtain bribery.

According to the investigations, one of the defendants demanded for himself an amount of 5 million pounds as a bribe from the owners of a private hospital by other defendants to prevent the implementation of the decision to close it.

The judges in Circuit 27 of the Cairo Criminal Court, held in the Fifth Settlement, heard the argument of the representative of the Public Prosecution in the case, who confirmed that the minister’s ex-wife used his influence to postpone the implementation of the decision to close the hospital.

The representative of the Public Prosecution added that “the defendants were seized by lust for money, so they asked and took a bribe” from the owners of Dar Al-Saha Hospital, adding that the husband of the Minister of Health asked for the bribe, taking advantage of his son in the incident, despite the latter’s unawareness of it.
