VIDEO. Plane pilot threatens to crash into supermarket in Mississippi

Big scare in Mississippi. The pilot of a plane threatened for almost five hours, this Saturday, September 3, to deliberately crash into a supermarket in the city of Tupelo, in the southern United States. Around 5 a.m., the police were notified that the pilot of a plane was flying over this city of nearly 38,000 inhabitants.

“The pilot has contacted emergency services and is threatening to intentionally crash into a Walmart,” a statement said. An arrest was made following the plane, believed to be stolen, finally landed in a field near Ashland. According to flight-tracking site FlightAware, the aircraft was a Beechcraft King Air 90, an aircraft nearly 11m long and with a wingspan of just over 15m. The pilot’s motives remain unknown.
