The battle for Mariupol’s massive Azovstal steel plant appears to be drawing to a close, after hundreds of the remaining Ukrainian soldiers at the facility were evacuees.
But Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Tuesday that negotiations with Russia and the evacuation mission “continue”.
Seriously wounded soldiers evacuated from Azovstal could be exchanged for Russian prisoners of war, Ukraine’s deputy prime minister said.
Finland and Sweden will deliver their application to NATO on Wednesday, Sweden’s prime minister said during a joint news conference with the Finnish president.
