About a year and a half ago, we talked here on the site about a utility called Vividbut until now I hadn’t had the opportunity to test it.
With the launch of the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro equipped with the M3 Pro and M3 Max chips, whose screen is 20% brighter in SDR content, I decided to try Vivid and share it with you on video.

In short, what Vivid does is “unlock” the maximum brightness of Mac screens (including the Pro Display XDR) — which is excellent for when you are in very bright/lit environments, for example.
For those interested, Vivid can be tried in split screen (as shown in the video) and has some license options: €10 in single mode, €40 for use on up to five devices or €60 for up to ten devices. If you buy it through the Mac App Store, it’s a little more expensive.
