Viettel club has a “capital derby” match against Hanoi FC in the framework of the opening match of V.League 2023. Although the squad does not have many outstanding players, the army of coach Thach Bao Khanh is the team that enters the game more actively.

In the 2nd minute, midfielder Hoang Duc had a daring dribble before finishing the ball to hit the Hanoi FC defender’s foot and deviate from the goal. Just a few minutes later, the player born in 1998 once again hit a shot at close range but could not overcome the block of goalkeeper Tan Truong.

After more than 10 minutes of the game, Hanoi FC regained the balance, gained control in the midfield and deployed attacks. Coach Bandovic’s students held the ball quite firmly and created some dangerous situations, but not much more dominant than Viettel.

In the 30th minute, Van Quyet took a dangerous free kick to let Bui Hoang Viet Anh overtake the Viettel defenders and hit his head, but the ball went wide of the goal. Right after that, defender Van Vi had an effort to pass the ball to Lucao in the penalty area to head high, but the ball hit the opponent’s body.

In the second half, Hanoi FC actively pushed up the squad and attacked more, mainly from the coordination phase. A superficial defensive situation of Jaha created an opportunity for the Capital team right in front of the penalty area. However, Marco could not put the ball into the net when goalkeeper Van Phong caught the ball correctly.

Minute 68, Jaha fouled Tuan Hai in the penalty area. Immediately, referee Nguyen Manh Hai gave Hanoi FC a penalty. On the 11m ban, Van Quyet easily defeated goalkeeper Van Phong to open the scoring for the home team.

After the goal, Viettel pressed up to find a rare equalizer. But in turn, Hoang Duc and Truong Tien Anh both missed the opportunity to eat right in front of the lime line. The most unfortunate was Danh Trung’s broken shot in the 84th minute after a well-coordinated situation of his teammates.

However, it was not too long to wait, it was the striker who scored the goal to help Viettel equalize 1-1 before the match ended. From a quick counter-attack, Truong Tien Anh delicately passed the ball into the penalty area so that Danh Trung flew his header through Hanoi.

The 1-1 draw result reflects the true nature of the match, when Hanoi and Viettel created a fairly balanced game with “tit-for-tat” situations.

In the next match, Viettel will be a guest on the field of Hong Linh Ha Tinh, while Hanoi will face a rival in the same city, the Hanoi Police.
