Viktor Medvedchuk said that he lives in Moscow

Viktor Medvedchuk, chairman of the Opposition Platform – For Life party banned in Ukraine, who called himself the godfather of President Vladimir Putin, said that he now lives in Moscow.

“I used to come to Moscow on various matters, and I came for one day – I arrived in the morning, I left in the evening. And now I live permanently in Moscow. I did not leave Ukraine, they exchanged me,” Mr. Medvedchuk said on the air of Channel One.

In September 2022, Viktor Medvedchuk was handed over to Russia in exchange for Ukrainian prisoners of war. In Ukraine, Mr. Medvedchuk faced up to 15 years in prison. In January 2023, he was deprived of Ukrainian citizenship, and then his deputy mandate.

In April 2022, as part of a criminal case in Ukraine, the property of Viktor Medvedchuk was arrested: 26 cars, 30 plots, 23 houses, 32 apartments, 17 parking spaces and a motor yacht. Shares in charter capitals in 25 companies were arrested, the beneficiaries of which were Mr. Medvedchuk or his wife Oksana Marchenko.
