International press reports said today, Tuesday, that Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani is close to moving to Spanish club Villarreal, in a free transfer deal, following the end of his contract with Manchester United.
According to the newspaper, “Marca”, it was the “yellow submarine” coach, Unai Emery, who supervised the training of Cavani at Paris Saint-Germain for two seasons, who requested the contract with the veteran striker.

And “Marca” indicated that Cavani agreed to a two-year contract with the European League champions in 2021, but matters related to the club remain to settle the deal, as Villarreal announced, last week, that the conclusion of new deals depends on the sale of contracts for a number of players.
Spanish striker Paco Alcacer is considered the closest to leaving, as he trains alone until he moves to another club.
It is reported that Cavani was close to playing in the Turkish league with Fenerbahce, but Villarreal’s entry to sign him changed the player’s destination, who preferred to play in the Spanish League.
