The action actor Vin Diesel has to answer in court on allegations of sexual assault. According to a lawsuit filed on Thursday in the US state of California, a former assistant accuses the US actor of sexually assaulting her more than ten years ago. The civil lawsuit demands unspecified damages.
Diesel’s assistant at the time, Asta Jonasson, waived the right to anonymity. She alleged that the now 56-year-old attacked her in a hotel in Atlanta in 2010 shortly after she was hired during a trip to film the action film “Fast and Furious Five.” He first asked her into the hotel room and kissed and touched her there against her will. He later pushed her against a wall and masturbated. She was fired the very next day.
He denies the allegations
“The message was clear,” the lawsuit said. Jonasson was fired “because she courageously defended herself against Vin Diesel’s sexual assault.” Vin Diesel should be “protected and his sexual assault covered up.”
Diesel’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, said his client “categorically denies the allegations in their entirety.” There is evidence that “completely refutes” the claims, said the statement published by Variety magazine.
