Vinicius has angrily protested the referees’ decisions day following day. But the Brazilian demonstrated following finishing Real Madrid-Rayo that he is capable of debating in a leisurely tone with the referees when the pulse of the play is not red hot.

Martínez Munuera was in charge of dispensing justice yesterday at the Bernabéu. During the match, the footballer complained to him regarding a foul that he considered clear: “But my back is turned if he touches me.”

Already calmer following the final whistle, Vinicius had a chat with the whistler regarding that play when they headed to the locker room tunnel and Munuera thanked him in some images shared by DAZN.

“But, listen, it’s appreciated to talk like that. I tell you from my heart,” the central judge told him. To which Vini added: “If he touches me a little, it is impossible to stay standing.”

It is not the first curious image that the forward and a referee star in on the way to the locker room. It happened in Real Madrid’s duel once morest Sevilla, where the Brazilian asked for a penalty for contact by Jesús Navas.

The attacker protested to the referee while they were heading to the locker room and got a response that was unusual in such events. “I was wrong, if I told you,” De Burgos Bengoetxea admitted to the footballer. In the images, also captured by DAZN, it is not possible to know if it refers to that alleged penalty or to another play in the game.
