The Liège youth court is examining this morning a case of assault on a young person who is now 23 years old: Guillaume was beaten up at Boverie Park on March 26, 2021. His days were in danger: skull fracture , internal hemorrhage, cerebral edema.
After spending four days in intensive care and a long stay in hospital, Guillaume suffered psychological and physical after-effects. In particular, he permanently lost his sense of smell and taste.
The defendant, a minor at the time of the events (17 years old), will also be tried for his participation in the riots of March 13, 2021 in Liège. Police officers became civil parties.
Today’s matter has already been postponed twice. The last time, it was because the young suspect’s lawyer had not been informed that her client was being referred to the youth court.
