It was around 1 p.m. this Sunday, October 1, when a violent collision occurred between a TEC bus and a van on avenue Eugène Mascaux, in Marcinelle (Charleroi).
The bus was going to the “Jamioulx Prison” stop, on avenue Mascaux, and the van was going down rue de l’Orphelinat, perpendicular to the main artery. The two vehicles collided at the intersection. Following the impact, the van collided with a parked vehicle before stopping.
Emergency services sent 5 ambulances, a fire brigade, an extrication team and a marker. Several local police teams closed the road, while a flying team from TEC Charleroi also reached the scene of the accident.
Five people were injured. On the bus, three are moderately injured, but one victim is in critical condition, according to our information. The driver of the van was also seriously injured. The people were dispatched to various hospitals in the region.
