Violent Fire in Auderghem: Pizzeria Blaze on Chaussée de Wavre Causes Severe Damage

Violent fire this Saturday evening in the town of Auderghem, south of Brussels. Firefighters were called to intervene on Chaussée de Wavre, where a fire broke out in a pizzeria and its building.

”All those present safe and sound outside, so fortunately no injuries. The start of the fire is probably in the chimney of the restaurant’s pizza oven with a spread to the 2nd floor and to the roof”, informs the fire department spokesperson.

The roof had to be partially dismantled. “The two apartments above the trade are uninhabitable.”

Following this disaster, the firefighters sent advice to the population: “chimneys require maintenance, inspection and sweeping to prevent fires from starting and ensure good draft”.
