It is a scene of rare violence which was noted Friday evening around 10 p.m., by the emergency services, rue de Presles in Villers-Poterie (Gerpinnes). In a house, the lifeless body of a mother born in 1958 was discovered.
The latter had her skull shattered and presented several wounds worn with a cutter in the throat, confirms the Charleroi prosecutor’s office this Saturday morning.
On parole
Before this act of violence, the son had initially contacted his dad. “He seemed a little disturbed as he told her that two people seemed to be looking for him.” The suspect then presented himself for the first time at his mother’s home, before leaving the place in a state of nervousness. “Leaving the scene with his vehicle, he then hit the vehicle of a neighboring couple. And everyone was invited to enter the victim’s home to carry out an accident report”, adds Sandrine Vairon, district prosecutor of Charleroi.
“Probably under the influence”, according to the prosecution, the son born in 1990 has shown himself to be more and more agitated. The neighbors finally preferred to leave the place to return to their home and call the police. Inside the home of the sexagenarian, things then degenerated.
”When paramedics arrived at the scene, they found the suspect leaving the home looking completely haggard. And on entering the house, the rescuers discovered the lifeless body of the mother, victim of a violent death”, confides the judicial authority.
Arrested and deprived of liberty, the suspect is currently hospitalized given his condition. His hearing could not yet be done, but the latter would have confided to the police “having done a big mistake.” Known to justice, the man deprived of his liberty had been on parole since 2019, for an attempted murder.
