MEXICO CITY — Pacific Hurricane Hilary off the northwest coast of Mexico has strengthened into a Category Four of Five storm. The US Hurricane Center said on Friday in Miami that it was a “big and powerful” hurricane heading towards the Mexican peninsula of Baja California and the south of the US state of California. A tropical storm warning was issued for California for the first time in history, as reported by US media.
