The adventure starts at the beginning of February. Two caregivers offer a workshop to residents of the Taillegrain EHPAD in Bourges. They create a TikTok account and post a few videos. And it goes viral very quickly! A million views in just 48 hours for a parody of the song by Diams and Vitaa. “The buzz we got was incredible, we didn’t expect it at allremembers Chloé Simmonet, one of the caregivers behind the project. We started to want to make it like a theater stage”.
Over the weeks, short videos follow one another on the social network. We see the resident volunteers dancing or performing to Disney songs, rap songs or classic French songs.

“I discovered because in my time, we didn’t have songs like thatsays Annick, one of the residents. I like doing that, we have a good laugh”. The approach appeals to Internet users and is beneficial for participants. “We have received thousands of positive and kind comments about our residentssays Pierre-Yves Halin, communications manager for the Bourges hospital center, to which the Taillegrain EHPAD depends. And there are a lot of people who tell us that these videos make them want to know more about the nursing assistant profession.”.
“If we can interest young people in working in the healthcare sector and in nursing homes, it doesn’t matter whether it is in our establishment or elsewhere, we will really have won everything”, he adds. Winning everything is what Berry residents, TikTok stars, do, since thanks to this initiative, their EHPAD won two trophies from the French Hospital Federation.
