VIRGINIA — The Virginia school board is scheduled to meet in regular session at 7 p.m. today at 651 S. Morgan St.
Among the items on the agenda are:
- Presentation and hearing on 2023 levy.
- Discussion and consideration of approval of loan for bus lease.
- Discussion and consideration of approval of bids for kitchen surplus items.
- Discussion and consideration of approval of risk management plan.
- Discussion and consideration of approval of 2023 tax levy.
- Discussion and first reading of various policies.
- Discussion and consideration of approval of personnel report.
The board also is expected to meet in closed session to discuss personnel issues.
David C.L. Bauer is editor and publisher. He joined the Journal-Courier in 2009 as editor and added publisher responsibilities in 2016. The Cincinnati native has worked as an editor for newspapers in Florida, Ohio and Kentucky and as a former adjunct instructor of journalism at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He has also worked at radio stations in Ohio as a news director and a disc jockey.
