In Austria there were recently 132 cases of monkeypox. The numbers are increasing worldwide. For this reason, on July 23, the WHO declared a “public health emergency with international implications” for monkeypox. The last time she imposed this emergency was in January 2020 due to the corona virus.
So is the next pandemic already looming? What are the new findings on monkeypox? And what regarding the vaccination? Lukas Weseslindtner, virologist at MedUni Vienna, with an update on the subject of monkeypox.
