Although it is quite difficult to create an excess of vitamins A, E, D in the body, this still happens. About it on the radio Sputnik on Wednesday, April 19, nutritionist Irina Maltseva said.

According to the expert, you can get an overdose not only by leaning on drugs and dietary supplements, but also by including certain foods in the diet.

“Vitamin E is found in sunflower oil, it can often be found in the composition of various preparations, such as dietary supplements. There may be an overdose here, ”said Maltseva.

The nutritionist also warned that it is dangerous to abuse vitamin A in the first trimester of pregnancy. This can cause pathologies and mutations in the fetus, since this substance has teratogenic toxicity.

Vitamin D in large quantities is dangerous only for people who have problems absorbing it. The level of this element increases not only when taken orally, but also, for example, when exposed to the sun, Maltseva noted.

An overdose of vitamin D can cause headache and joint pain, drowsiness, weakness, constipation, increased pressure, temperature, and other unpleasant symptoms. Excess vitamin A also threatens with migraines, abdominal pain and weakness.

But, again, these symptoms can signal other problems, ”added Maltseva.
