Vivo S15e launched with Exynos 1080 display and AMOLED

own vivo officially started Vivo S15 series with the launch of Vivo S15e today. The new smartphone is an interesting mid-range smartphone that seems to be another sign of Vivo’s ties with Samsung. The Chinese manufacturer is once again releasing a smartphone with Exynos 1080 SoC. As a reminder, this chip powers the Chinese version of the Vivo X60 and X60 Pro. These variants from China have never escaped this chip, so we’re curious to know if the Vivo S15e will be able to escape from China with no hardware change. Vivo S15e arrives in the market with a 6.44-inch Full HD + AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,404 x 1,080 pixels. The device also has a 20:9 aspect ratio with 103 percent coverage of the NTSC color gamut. Furthermore, the device offers a screen refresh rate of 90Hz. Under the hood, the Vivo S15e has a Samsung Exynos 1080 SoC. It was Samsung’s first mid-range 5nm chipset. It is very powerful with a clock speed of 2.8GHz and a Mali-G78 GPU. The chipset also houses 12 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256 GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage.

Moving to the back, the phone has a triple camera setup. It has a 50-megapixel main camera with an f / 1.8 lens slot. There is also an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a 2-megapixel macro shooter with an f/2.4 aperture. For selfies and video calls, there is a 16MP camera on the front. Interestingly, the phone can record videos at a resolution of up to 4K. In terms of battery life, the Vivo S15e comes with a 4,700mAh battery with 66W fast charging support.

Vivo S15e also comes with an under-display fingerprint scanner. If you prefer Face Unlock, it is also supported. Other features include dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, USB Type-C charging port, and 5G and 4G support. In terms of software, the phone runs Android 12 directly. Thus, the Chinese variant comes with Origin OS Ocean on top. The device will be sold in three colors – peach, blue and black.

Pricing and availability information

The Vivo S15e will retail for CNY 1,999 (~$305) in China for the variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. There’s also a CNY2,299 ($350) version that comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Finally, the top version comes with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB and costs CNY 2,499 ($381). The phone is ready for pre-orders in the country, and shipments are scheduled to begin on April 30. At the moment, there is no information on regional availability.
