With its billion-dollar investment in more climate-friendly steel, voestalpine is embarking on a new path for it. Yesterday there was a lot of talk regarding superlatives, the switch from the classic blast furnace route of steel production to an electric arc furnace was the largest climate protection project in Austria. Less carbon is used, which ultimately reduces CO2 pollution across the country by five percent.
