Comrade Raed Fahmy, Secretary of the Central Committee of the party, received, yesterday, Sunday 8/1/2023, Lieutenant General Jibril Rajoub, envoy of the Palestinian President, Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Fatah Movement, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, member of the Central Committee of the Fatah Movement, at the party’s headquarters in Andalus Square.

During the meeting, the guest delegation listened to the party’s position on the current government and the principle of quotas on which it was formed, and the structural obstacles that impede attempts at reform, regardless of the good intentions in fighting corruption and restricting weapons to the state and its impact socially and economically. Comrade Fahmy also touched on the party’s position on the Palestinian issue and the choice of the Palestinian people in their free state, and rejected attempts at normalization that are intended to subjugate the will of the peoples of the region and make them dependent on external wills.

For his part, Lieutenant General Rajoub saluted the historical position of the party in particular and the Iraqi people in general in the struggle for the Palestinian cause, calling for perpetuating the momentum of support for the Palestinian people and their legitimate struggle for a two-state solution. He also noted the current extremist Israeli government and its internal and external policy of escalation against the active democratic forces. Inside Israel and targeting the Palestinian national forces.

At the same time, Rajoub stressed the need to achieve Palestinian national unity, calling on all forces supporting the Palestinian people and their liberation struggle against the occupation to support efforts to overcome the state of division. Mr. Rajoub was accompanied by Mr. Tayseer Nasrallah, a member of the Revolutionary Council of the Fatah movement, His Excellency Ambassador Ahmed Aqel, Mr. Badr Ahmed Aqel, Counselor Munir Sobhi, and Media Adviser Fouad Hajjo.

While the comrades, members of the Central Committee, Haider Muthanna, Talaat Karim, and comrade Jabra Al-Taei, member of the National Relations Committee, participated in the meeting.
